The Deck. Cuarenta is played with 40 cards from a standard 52 card deck. The eights, nines and tens are removed leaving the numbers ace-2-3-4-5-6-7 (ace is low) and the pictures. The removed 8’s 9’s and 10’s are not used in the play, but they are used to keep score.
