Ensure they are secure and pushed all the way to the back of the dresser. Tighten any loose screws with the drill. Inspect the tracks for any damaged sections, such as a bent area that could cause the rollers to slide out of the track. Use a pliers to bend crooked sections back into place so the rollers won’t pop out.
A kitchen drawer that will not close completely may be too full, or there may be some object blocking the back of the drawer. One or both of the slides could be slightly bent, perhaps from the weight of too many items inside, which could also interfere with the smooth operation of the drawer.
If your kitchen drawers will not stay closed, you do not have to replace the drawers to correct the problem. Damaged, loose or misaligned drawer slides allow a drawer to slide back open after closing. Repairing or replacing the drawer’s slides will keep it closed after you shut it.
When a drawer opens by itself, it’s usually due to a warped housing, loose rail or other structural issue. Go over the rails on the side or beneath the drawer to find any misshapen sliders, loose screws or other problems with the housing of the cabinet. But it can be difficult to see into the housing of the drawer.
This undermount method takes space available at the sides of the drawer and moves it to under the drawers where these rails are attached.
Remove one screw using a screwdriver, from the front of the runners on both sides of the drawer, located about 1 inch from the front of the runners. Depress a tab with your fingers on both sides above the screw holes. Lift the drawer up and out.
