We recently announced a new way to play Quizlet Live — with Individuals mode. It has all the fun of traditional Quizlet Live, while allowing students to play as individuals instead of teams. Now, teachers can run Quizlet Live remotely without needing student teams and communication.

You can only start a game of Quizlet Live from the Quizlet website—not within the app—but players can join and play from mobile devices. If you identified yourself as a teacher when you signed up, you can start a game of Quizlet Live in individuals mode.
To play a game of Quizlet Live in teams mode, four or more people must play with a set that has at least six term–definition pairs. Each player will need a computer or mobile device. You can also play Quizlet Live without teams, where each individual plays against others.
To create custom teams
Start a game of Quizlet Live. Select Create your own teams once everyone has joined the game. Assign team numbers. Players are prompted to enter their team number, and then their names appear under their team’s name.
As an online flash card platform, Quizlet cannot directly detect cheating because it is not their core business. This is because the platform only offers study material and it is not involved in plagiarism detection or facilitating institutions to conduct online tests or exams remotely.
