It sounds like you might have accidentally compacted your toolbar. Please press Ctrl + Shift + F to restore it, or press the downward-facing arrow in the top right of the action bar. If that doesn’t fix it, or if you can’t see the arrows, please try pressing Ctrl + Shift + F twice.
