To tell time on an analog clock, you look at where the hands are pointing. The short or small hand tells you the hour, the long or big hand tells you the minute of the current hour, and the thinnest hand indicates the seconds of the current minute.
Look at the number that the hours hand (the small, thick hand) is pointing at. This will tell us the hour of the day. The hours hand always points at the big numbers on the clock. Know that often, the hours hand will be pointed in between two numbers.

A ‘quarter‘ can replace ’15 minutes’. It can be used with ‘to’ or ‘past’ depending on its situation. Ex: It’s a quarter to 5 ( 4:45 ). It’s a quarter past 5 (5:15).
The minute hand moves 360 degrees in 60 minute(or 6 degrees in one minute) and hour hand moves 360 degrees in 12 hours(or 0.5 degrees in 1 minute).
First note that a clock is a circle made of 360 degrees, and that each number represents an angle and the separation between them is 360/12 = 30. And at 2:00, the minute hand is on the 12 and the hour hand is on the 2. The correct answer is 2 * 30 = 60 degrees.
The same holds true for telling time. … There are a few key ages where you should teach your child about time — but remember this is an incremental process: Age 5-6: Children should be able to read the hour and half hour markers on an analog clock, and draw the corresponding times as well.
